TROUBLESHOOTING
 |
Hi, this is Dredd.
I have laid out everything very carefully on
my site, for you to copy any DVD. You should not experience much trouble,
although, some things sometimes needs a bit of tweaking.
I will
update this page when I come upon something that you may experience
trouble with.
 |
Make sure you have downloaded the CSS version of DVDFab.
The
non-CSS version will not copy protected DVDs.
Update:
DVDFab now has only one version, it is the CSS version. |

When you copy a movie and DVDFab gives you some sort of error, make
sure you have the latest version. DVDFab gets updated frequently.
Remember, copy protections for DVDs are getting updated frequently, so
therefor DVDFab must compensate for that.
You must update your DVDFab manually, click on
DVDFab to see if you have the latest version. (Look at the date). Download the new DVDFab.exe file and install it onto your computer. It is a good idea to
uninstall the previous version before you install the new version.
If
it still gives you an error, it is most likely the disc you are trying to
copy from — try another disc. |

When you shrink your movie with DVD Shrink, it is a good idea to shrink it a
little bit smaller than the default setting.
The
default setting will shrink it to 4.463 GB. When you are in the "Compression
Settings" tab (DVD Shrink) you will see it is set to "Automatic".
Change it to "Custom Ratio" and drag the slide bar a little to the left.
Look at the green bar, set
it to 4.400 or close to it.
The
reason for this is, when your disc is fully written to the edge, it
sometimes gives trouble when you try to re-copy it. |

Sometimes DVDFab chooses the incorrect track.
As a result, the sound is behind the picture or the
movie starts in an incorrect sequence. This is easily fixable,
let me show you how. |
