See that it shows HARD
DISC FOLDER here (Marked as “6”)
|
|
6. |
Now click on the BROWSE
button (Marked as “7”) and choose a new folder.
You will see there is a MAKE NEW FOLDER
option. This is where the compressed movie will
be copied to.
If you want, you can browse to
the same folder where you have copied the files
to, using DVDFab. Now, create a new folder
there and rename it to something like
“Compressed Movie”. Click OK after you
have created the new folder.

|
|
7. |
Click on the DVD REGION tab at the top of
the window. Make sure REGION FREE
(Marked as “8”) is checked. Your DVD will now
work with all DVD players in all regions.

Click on the QUALITY SETTINGS tab at the
top of the window. If your DVD gave you a 100%
(no-compression), then here you don’t have to
select anything. If not, mark the PERFORM
DEEP ANNALYSIS BEFORE BACKUP TO IMPROVE QUALITY
(Marked as “9”).
Also mark COMPRESS
VIDEO WITH HIGH QUALITY ADAPTIVE ERROR
COMPENSATION (Marked as “10”), and then
select SHARP (DEFAULT) (Marked as “11”)
from the drop down list. You can play around
with the different options here, but the
SHARP (DEFAULT) will do just fine. It is
also not essential to perform the deep analysis,
but it is highly recommended.

Click on the OPTIONS tab at the top of
the window. Deselect the RUN BACKUP IN LOW
PRIORITY MODE (Marked as “12”) if you are
not going to use your computer while DVD Shrink
is working.
Don’t mark the SHUTDOWN COMPUTER
WHEN BACKUP IS COMPLETE (Marked as “13”).
You can leave the PLAY SOUND WHEN COMPLETE
(Marked as “14”) on, if you like.

|
10. |
Click the BURN SETTINGS tab at the top of
the window. The VOLUME LABEL (Marked as
“15”) is the name of your movie and should
already be there.
|
|
11.** |
Now click on the OK button and DVD Shrink
will start working. When DVD Shrink is done,
just click OK and close the program.

12. |
When you're done compressing your files, go to
Free DVD Burning Software to
write them to disc. |
|
|
|
|
NOTE: |
You can also burn your DVD files to a blank
disc with DVD Shrink - just after compression -
just change the option (Marked
as "6") to your DVD writer. But I still
prefer to copy the files to hard drive and then
burn them to blank disc with another program,
such as
Nero or Free Easy Burner. |
